Friends - On a windy day

Friendship is probably the only relationship that arrives without an application form, a dress code, or a rulebook. It doesn’t care where you come from, what you believe, or what chapter of life you’re in.
It simply pulls up a chair and says, “Scoot over.”
The ones who believe every windy day is the greatest celebration ever invented. The ones who chase leaves like they’re Olympic medals, greet you as if you’ve returned from a decade-long voyage after being gone for seven minutes, and somehow convince you that the best plan for today is… absolutely no plan at all.
Perhaps that’s why friendship is so extraordinary.
It is the one relationship where you don’t have to audition. You don’t need to impress anyone, explain yourself, or pretend to have everything figured out. Friends have already seen you at your best, your worst, your weirdest, and somehow decided to stay.
They know when to laugh with you.
When to laugh at you.
And when to simply sit beside you until the world feels a little lighter.
Friendship doesn’t see gender.
It doesn’t keep score.
It doesn’t ask for perfection.
It doesn’t arrive with conditions.
It simply collects moments, shared mugs of tea, impossible adventures, terrible puns, spontaneous road trips, windy afternoons, wagging tails, comfortable silences, and stories that somehow get funnier every single time they’re told.
Here’s to the friends who become our favourite people.
The human ones.
The furry ones.
And the wonderfully strange ones who quietly become family.
